<9 days of IVs cannula sufficient
>9 days requires mid/PICC line

Documentation to be sent home with the patient:
– Signed assessment criteria (referral form)
– Preprinted prescription
– Discharge letter to GP (inpatient only)
– Information leaflets as appropriate
